Elephant Mountain Trail Runs

The Elephant Mountain Trail Runs take place on national trails in the desert wilderness around Cave Creek, Arizona. Six distances are offered, ranging from a short 3.7-mile route up through 7.5 miles, 13.7 miles, 21.7 miles, a 50K (31 miles), and a full 50-mile ultramarathon. The wide spread of distances makes the event accessible to newcomers looking for a short desert trail outing as well as ultrarunners aiming for the 50-mile distance. All routes wind through Sonoran Desert terrain, giving runners a genuine backcountry trail experience regardless of which distance they choose.
