About

Day of The Dead 5K - Fair Oaks takes place in Fair Oaks, California, on October 25, 2026. Two distances are on the schedule, a 10K at 8:05 a.m. and a 5K at 8:30 a.m., with kids' races alongside them. A post-race festival brings live music, Mexican food and fitness and wellness booths, plus an ofrenda where you are invited to leave photos or flowers in remembrance. Entrants receive shirts, medals and giveaways, and there are awards for the races and for the costume contest.

A few practical points shape the day: bibs must be visible, headphones are discouraged, and pets and strollers are allowed. That last detail tells you the tone is sociable rather than cut-throat. Race the 10K if you want a real effort out of the morning, or jog the 5K with the family and stay for the festival afterwards.
