About
Crazy Desert Trail Race spans two days of trail running in San Angelo, Texas. On March 6, 2027 the 100K (62 miles) sets off at 6:00 a.m., the 50K (31 miles) at 8:00 a.m., the marathon (26.2 miles) at 8:15 a.m., the 25K (15.5 miles) at 8:30 a.m. and the half marathon (13.1 miles) at 8:45 a.m. The shorter events follow on March 7, with the 10K at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K at 9:30 a.m.
Trail distances do not translate directly from road times, so expect to run slower than your road pace and plan your fueling by the hour rather than by the mile. The half and 25K are approachable entries for road runners moving to dirt, while the 50K and 100K call for long back-to-back weekend runs and a rehearsed nutrition plan over a build of several months.
