Colt Creek State Park Trail Run

The Colt Creek State Park Trail Run takes place in Lakeland, Florida, in early April, in one of the most scenic state parks in central Florida. Runners can choose a 5K (3.1 miles), a 10K (6.2 miles) or a half marathon (13.1 miles), starting at 7:45, 7:30 and 7:15 AM respectively. The well-marked natural trails wind through pine forests and around quiet lakes over lightly rolling terrain, with aid stations about every 2.5 miles. Chip timing, finisher medals and age-group awards are part of the day, and the park setting is family friendly, with restrooms on the course and food and refreshments afterward. Florida's warmth builds quickly, so the early starts and good hydration make a difference.
