Your Next Step Is the Cure raises awareness and funds for ocular melanoma, a rare cancer that affects about six people per million each year and currently has no known cure. The event takes place at Alderman's Ford Park in Plant City, Florida, and includes a 5K along with a non-competitive fun run for kids ages 0 to 9, who all receive medals.
Awards go to the top finishers in each age group. Runners receive a T-shirt and a swag bag at packet pickup ahead of the race, and the day also features vendor exhibitors and a raffle.
