Coastal Half Marathon, 5K & I Mile Fun Run

Coastal Half Marathon, 5K & I Mile Fun Run is held at Orange Beach, on the Alabama coast, on November 28, 2026. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:00 a.m., the 5K at 8:10 a.m. and the one-mile fun run at 8:20 a.m. The event pairs coastal scenery with scenic back-country trails, and the spread of distances is meant to suit different levels of endurance. Falling the weekend after Thanksgiving, it works as a reason to stretch the holiday into a family weekend.

Trail sections change the calculation slightly: expect a slower pace than on a road half marathon and run by effort rather than chasing target splits. Two or three of your longer training runs on soft or uneven ground will do more for you than the same mileage on flat pavement. The 5K and the fun run leave within twenty minutes of the half, so a group can enter three different events and still gather at the finish together.
