Chaskis Run

Chaskis Run takes place in San Antonio, Texas, on November 21, 2026, with a single format, the Chaskis 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles), starting at 9:30 AM. The event is organized by the UTSA student chapter of Engineers Without Borders together with Texas Partners of the Americas. Proceeds go toward humanitarian relief efforts in Vina Vieja, Peru, and to ongoing projects in Texas, Peru, and Mexico. Awards are presented in several categories.

Since it is a run/walk with a late-morning start, you can take part whether you are a student trying your first race or a regular runner fitting in a quick effort. If you plan to walk, the distance takes most people 45 minutes to an hour at a steady clip. If you want to compete for one of the awards, a short block of training with one weekly workout of 5K-pace intervals, plus easy runs on the other days, will sharpen you up. Warm up for ten minutes, control the first half mile, and treat the final stretch as the place to make your move.
