About

The Buckeye Trail 50K in Brecksville, Ohio, is the state's oldest trail ultramarathon, returning on June 27, 2027. The 50K (31 miles) starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 25K (15.5 miles) at 8:15 a.m.

It began in 1994 as an informal birthday run. The original course was an out-and-back, so every runner crossed paths with everyone else. As its popularity grew, the event added the 25K, which follows parts of the 50K course. Several transportation options are available, including buses and drop-offs from designated locations. Despite changes to the park system and to the routes, the race keeps drawing trail runners.
