Bristow 24/12 Run

The Bristow 24/12 Run, also known as the Elijah Bristow 24 Hour Run, takes place on June 5, 2027, in Dexter, Oregon. Rather than fixed distances, it offers timed trail events of 6, 12 and 24 hours, all starting together at 8:00 a.m. Runners are ranked by the distance they cover within the time limit, not by a finish time over a set course.

The loop format changes the whole logic of the race: you run at a very easy pace, take walking breaks without guilt and reach the aid station on every lap. That paradoxically makes it a good setting for a first ultra, since you can stop at any point without being stranded. The 6-hour event is enough to get a taste of the format; the 24-hour calls for a plan for sleep, overnight fueling and rotating shoes and clothing.
