About

Big Easy Halloween Half Marathon, 10K & 5K is a road race held in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 25, 2026, on a course closed to traffic along the lakefront near the French Quarter. The half marathon (13.1 miles), the 10K, the 5K and the Kid's One Mile Fun Run all start at 7 a.m. The event is run in partnership with The Blue Crab Restaurant and Oyster Bar, which supplies a festive atmosphere with live music and seafood, and the whole morning is set up as a family outing.

A closed course is worth more than most runners realize: no intersections, no traffic, and clean tangents to run. That makes it a fair place to chase a half marathon time, and a flat lakefront route only helps. Plan a 12 week build with a weekly long run, and remember that a 7 a.m. start in Louisiana still means humid air, so drink early rather than late.
