About

The Shamrockin Run New Orleans takes place in New Orleans, Louisiana, in early March, along Lakeshore Drive. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:15 a.m., the 10K (6.2 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) at 7:30 a.m., and a Leprechaun Kids Fun Run of 1 mile at 10:00 a.m.

The course is closed to car traffic, giving participants a safe place to run. The event also features the Guinness Challenge 5K, in which participants drink Guinness at set intervals during the race, and the top male and female finishers of the challenge win a case of the beer. The event headquarters are at the Blue Crab Restaurant & Oyster Bar on Lakeshore Drive. Early March in New Orleans is often humid, so wear breathable clothing and hydrate before the start.
