About

Big Butts is a trail race near Jackson, Mississippi, held on July 17, 2027, at the Mississippi College Choctaw Trails, with 100K, 50K and 25K distances. Organized by the MS Ultra and Trail Society, it offers both solo races and a relay on loops of cross-country and singletrack trail, over mostly non-technical terrain with a few small hills.

Personal crew support near the start and aid stations on the course keep runners going. Awards go to the top finishers and the first relay team, with a cash prize for a new course record. The race is known for Mississippi's punishing heat and humidity. The 100K (62 miles), 100K Relay and 50K (31 miles) start at 7:00 a.m., and the 25K (15.5 miles) at 7:30 a.m.
