About

The Back Roads Half & 10k in Red Lodge is a fall running event offering a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and a 10K (6.2 miles) on rolling rural roads with panoramic views of the Beartooth Mountains. Both races start at 10:00 a.m. on October 3, 2027.

Scheduled to accommodate cross-country fans, the race is open to everyone, including walkers and people pushing strollers, but dogs are not allowed because of livestock nearby. The courses are mostly gravel with some paved sections and limited elevation change, apart from two challenging hills. It is an ideal way to wrap up a summer of running in a scenic setting.
