About
Back On The Ranch Trail Run is a fixed-time trail running event in Los Olivos, California, held on October 3, 2026, by All We Do Is Run. Five durations are on the schedule: a 48-hour race, a 24-hour race that starts at 1:00 AM, and 12-hour, 6-hour and 3-hour races that all begin at 8:00 AM alongside the 48-hour start. In every format the goal is the same: cover the most distance you can before your clock expires.
Start with the 3-hour or 6-hour race if you are new to timed events; both let you test how far you can go without the pressure of a set distance or cutoff. The 12-hour and 24-hour options are natural progressions toward a 50-mile or 100-mile goal, and the 48-hour race is for experienced ultrarunners who want to see what two nights on the move look like. Training for a timed race means time on your feet, not speed: long easy runs, planned walking, and eating on the move. The 1:00 AM start of the 24-hour race also calls for a strategy around sleep the night before.
