About
ATX Taco Challenge runs in Austin, Texas, on October 25, 2026, with a single 5K starting at 8:30 a.m. It is a road event on a fall weekend morning, and the short distance keeps the whole thing to well under an hour for most participants.
A 5K is the most forgiving race on the calendar for testing your current fitness: you can run it flat out for a time, use it as a tune-up inside a longer half marathon or marathon block, or simply jog it with friends. If you want a personal best, four to six weeks of short intervals at 5K effort with jogged recovery, plus one longer weekend run, is a solid build. Keep everything else easy.
