The ATW Hatfield 5 is one of the fastest 5-mile races in the UK, having produced the third-best time in the country in 2022. On 29 November 2026 the race starts at 10:00 from the Forum on the University of Hertfordshire campus and quickly joins the well-known Alban Way, a popular running route between Hatfield and St Albans.

The 5-mile (8 km) course is remarkably flat, with just 3 metres of elevation gain, and features wide turns and long straights, including the A414 path and Comet Way. It finishes on the Alban Way, making for a fast, chip-timed course designed to help runners set a personal best.
