About

The Andy Payne Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Foyil, Oklahoma, in early April, and honors Andy Payne, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation who won the 1928 international transcontinental foot race. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:30 AM and the 5K (3.1 miles) at 9:00 AM. Afterward, an awards ceremony is held at the Claremore Museum of History, with free massages, nutrition teas, food trucks and interactive exhibits. Participants can have their photo taken with the Andy Payne statue and learn more about him inside the museum. A virtual race option is also available for anyone who cannot make it to Oklahoma.
