About

The Wildflower Trail Races take place in Bastrop, Texas, in the Texas Hill Country, over two days in early May, around Mother's Day weekend. The scenic single-track trails run through pine forest and rock formations in the Lost Pines area. Distances include a 50K (31 miles), a marathon (26.2 miles), a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 12-mile race, a 5-mile race and a 5K, plus a one-mile family walk and kids' run.

The longer races start at 7:00 a.m., with the half marathon and 12-mile at 7:30. The program serves competitive and recreational runners alike, with an emphasis on community and the natural beauty of the region. Texas spring heat can arrive early, so an early start, plenty of fluid and patience on the technical sections all help.
