Wildcat Half Marathon

Wildcat Half Marathon is held on May 15, 2027, in El Sobrante, California, less than an hour from San Francisco. The half marathon (13.1 mi), a 10K (6.5 mi) and a 5K (3.1 mi) all start together at 7:30 a.m., on courses running through Wildcat Canyon Regional Park and the hills around it.

A canyon course means climbing, and a common start means the first mile is crowded while everyone sorts themselves out: let the 5K field go and settle into the gradient. Run the hills by effort rather than by pace — on a rolling half, the runners who hold an even heart rate rather than an even split are the ones still moving well in the last three miles.
