About

The Whiskey Basin trail races take place in Prescott, Arizona, in early April, on rocky trails in the high country of Arizona and its natural parks. Five distances are offered: a 10K (6.2 miles), a 21K (13 miles), a 30K (18.6 miles) with about 880 feet of climbing, a 60K (37.3 miles) with about 4,280 feet of climbing and a 90K (55.9 miles) with about 5,980 feet of climbing. The terrain is rocky, so footwork matters as much as fitness, and at Prescott's elevation newcomers from lower altitudes should expect to run a little slower. The range of distances gives both first-time trail runners and ultrarunners a place in the field.
