West Virginia Trilogy

West Virginia Trilogy runs from October 8 to 10, 2027, in Circleville, West Virginia, near Spruce Knob, the highest point in the state. This stage race spans three days: a 50K (31 miles) trail race on October 8 at 7:00 a.m., a 50-miler (80.5 km) on October 9 at 6:00 a.m., then, on October 10 at 9:00 a.m., a trail half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and Run For The Hills, a 5K. Each race can also be entered on its own.

Following a 50K with 50 miles before a half marathon is a matter of repeated endurance more than speed: managing overnight recovery, nutrition and foot care matters more than pace. Good preparation includes back-to-back long-run weekends and a full test of all gear, shoes included. For those targeting a single day, the half marathon and 5K on the final day offer the same terrain without committing to all three days.
