War Party 10K

War Party 10K is held in Colonial Heights, Tennessee, on February 20, 2027, with the single 10K starting late in the morning at 11:00 a.m. It is a road race, and the unusual start time means you can drive in that morning rather than the night before.

An 11:00 a.m. gun changes how you eat: have a proper breakfast three hours out and something small an hour before, instead of the coffee-and-go routine most early races demand. As for the distance, a 10K rewards runners with a real base, ideally 20 to 25 miles a week for a couple of months with one weekly session at a controlled hard pace. Run the first two miles under control and the last two will be the fastest.
