About

Wapsi Wiggle is held on July 31, 2027, in Riceville, a small town in north-east Iowa. Two distances are offered: the half marathon (13.1 mi) and a 5K (3.1 mi). Start times are not listed in our records.

Small-town Iowa races are flat, friendly and thinly populated, which means long stretches running alone and no crowd to pull you through a bad patch. Know your target splits before the gun rather than expecting to find a group, and treat the modest entry field as the advantage it is — no congestion, and a clear road from the first stride.
