About

Walk/Run for Kids is an annual event in Sunland Park organized by Ronald McDonald House Charities of El Paso, held on October 2, 2027, at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino. It features a 5K (3.1 miles) run starting at 7:30 a.m. and a 1-mile (1.6 km) fun walk at 8:00 a.m., with registration open to individuals and teams.

The event supports families whose seriously ill children are receiving medical care in El Paso and Las Cruces, and proceeds provide lodging for families during their child's treatment. Challenges such as "best-dressed pet" and "largest team" add to the fun, and medals are awarded to top participants in various age groups.
