The Venice Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Venice, Florida, in mid-February. The half marathon (13.1 miles) and the 5K (3.1 miles) start at Maxine Barritt Park and follow the Legacy Trail, a scenic route that shows off the natural beauty of southwest Florida.

Runners of all levels are welcome. After the race, there is plenty to do in town, including seafood restaurants, art galleries and outdoor activities such as beach walks, boat trips and kayaking. Mid-February on Florida's Gulf Coast is usually mild and sunny, but humidity and sun exposure can still make a half marathon harder than the temperature suggests, so drink early, wear sunscreen and consider a cap.
