About

VALOR 5K and Fun Run is set for Haymarket, Virginia, on October 24, 2026. Two options share an 8 a.m. start: the 5K run over 3.1 miles and a 1 Mile Fun Run and Walk. Sending both away together keeps the morning tight, and everyone is back at the finish area within roughly the same window.

The mile is the easier entry point here, short enough for children and for anyone returning to running after time away, while the 5K gives regular runners a proper effort. If you want to race the 5K well, eight weeks is a sensible runway: two harder sessions a week, one at goal race pace and one a little quicker, an easy long run at the weekend, and a light final week so you start rested.
