Unified 5K - Dexter

The Unified 5K - Dexter, held alongside the AdaptXpo in Dexter on August 29, 2027, is an inclusive road race and adaptive sports expo promoting community and access to sport for people with intellectual or physical disabilities. It offers a 5K (3.1-mile) Run and Roll and a 1-mile walk, run and roll, both starting at 10 a.m.

The event encourages participation through activities such as running, walking, rolling and rowing. Organizer AdaptX works to remove barriers to health and fitness through education, research, advocacy and scholarships, and runs the Rick Hoyt Research Lab to improve fitness outcomes. Proceeds support initiatives that make physical activity accessible to all, including the Scholarship and Ambassador Fund, which tackles socioeconomic barriers.
