About
Ultrapalooza takes place in Osawatomie, Kansas, on September 26–27, 2026. The weekend lines up seven trail formats. Saturday, September 26, hosts the 100-mile, the 100K (62 miles), and the 50-mile, all starting at 6:00 a.m., followed by the 50K (31 miles) at 6:30 a.m. and a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, September 27, brings a 10K at 8:00 a.m. and a 5K at 8:10 a.m., so shorter-distance runners get their own morning.
With everything from a 5K to a 100-mile, this is the kind of event where a whole group can take part at different levels, or where an ultrarunner can race Saturday and cheer on friends Sunday. The half marathon and 50K make good first trail race and first ultra choices respectively; the 50-mile, 100K, and 100-mile call for prior ultra experience and an overnight plan. For the longest formats, set up a 16- to 20-week build with back-to-back long runs, night running, and a tested nutrition routine. For the half and the 50K, 12 to 16 weeks with a weekly long trail run is a sensible target.
