Mount Rainier Trail

Mount Rainier Trail is held on July 17, 2027, at Paradise, Pierce County, Washington, at the foot of Mount Rainier. Three trail distances are offered: 21 km (13 mi), 10 km (6.2 mi) and 5 km (3.1 mi). Start times and elevation gain are not listed in our records.

Paradise sits above 5,400 feet, and the trails climb from there — so treat any of these distances as taking substantially longer than the same number of kilometres at home. Mid-July is also the earliest the snow reliably clears at that elevation; check conditions the week before, and carry a shell whatever the forecast says, because weather on the mountain turns faster than it does in the valley.
