About

TMA 5K Run/Walk takes place in Houston, Texas, on October 29, 2026, with a single 5K run/walk starting at 7 a.m. The event is organized by the Turnaround Management Association, and the early start puts you on the road before the day warms up, which matters in Houston even late in October.

A 5K at this hour is a good fit if you want a short, honest effort that leaves the rest of the day open. Runners chasing a personal best get a distance that responds quickly to training; walkers get a manageable 3.1 miles. Preparing for it does not take a long build, six weeks of steady mileage with a weekly interval session covers most people, but do warm up thoroughly beforehand: a 5K starts hard, and cold legs at 7 a.m. cost you more time than the first mile is worth.
