About

The Tillman Clocktower 5K Road Race & 2-Mile Healthwalk in Rome is one of the largest races in Georgia, originally founded by the Rome Jaycees. The next edition is on August 15, 2027, with the 5K (3.1 miles) at 8 a.m. and the noncompetitive 2-mile walk at 8:05 a.m.

Runners head through historic downtown Rome and climb Clocktower Hill, which overlooks the Coosa River. The 5K is certified and chip-timed, so it can be used to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race. Massages, refreshments and music are on offer, and awards are given in several categories (the walk is not competitive). Proceeds go to the Exchange Club Family Resource Center for the prevention of child abuse. Parking is available at Heritage Park.
