About

The Metropolitan 5K is an annual community wellness event and Juneteenth celebration in Atlanta, Georgia, with the 5K (3.1 miles) and the Metro 5K Senior Walk both starting at 8 a.m. on June 18, 2027. Organized by E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and the nonprofit Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T, it aims to promote physical and mental well-being in underserved communities, and proceeds benefit local youth and holiday outreach efforts.

The program includes a standard 5K, a kids' fun run and a senior walk. The race is a certified qualifier for the Peachtree Road Race and is open to all ages and fitness levels. Participants receive a T-shirt and finisher medal, and age-group awards are based on net time.
