The Jim Thorpe Area Running Festival takes place in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, over a weekend in late April. The program includes a half marathon (13.1 miles) on Saturday at 8:00 AM, a 7-miler of about 7.0 miles with a scenic train ride on Saturday at 7:00 AM, and a full marathon (26.2 miles) with a scenic train ride on Sunday at 8:00 AM. Runners who want a bigger challenge can enter the Full Super Two-Fer, which combines the half marathon and the full marathon for about 39.3 miles over the two days. Planning recovery between Saturday and Sunday is the key to finishing the Two-Fer comfortably.
