The Fall Color 5K - IL

The Fall Color 5K is staged in Lisle, Illinois, in DuPage County on October 24, 2026, with the 5K (3.1 miles) starting at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers of every level cover a scenic route through the east side of The Morton Arboretum, timed for the season's changing color. A virtual entry is available if you cannot be there in person.

The event closes with a post-race gathering featuring live music, food and a complimentary beer, and proceeds support the Arboretum's mission of a greener, healthier environment. Running inside an arboretum means a mix of paths rather than a straight city road, so pace by feel and enjoy the surroundings rather than staring at your watch. If you want to be sharp for it, six weeks of running three or four times a week with one faster session is more than enough for the distance.
