The Darkest Night of Your Life 4K

The Darkest Night of Your Life 4K takes place on October 1, 2027, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. There is a single format, an untimed 4K (2.5 miles) open to runners and walkers alike. The event is organized by HOPE 4 Youth, a nonprofit that supports homeless youth in Minnesota: the evening raises awareness of the challenges they face and funds the organization's programs.

With no rankings, the focus is on taking part rather than on performance, which makes this 4K accessible to walkers and occasional runners without any prior training. For regular runners, the distance is the equivalent of a recovery jog. An October evening in Minnesota calls for layers, an eye on the temperature and something warm to put on right after the finish line.
