The Billing

The Billing, near Guiseley, is a 14 km winter trail race on 13 February 2027 at 11:00, and it isn't here to make friends: runners have to earn their glory. Born from two infamous Great Owl Running GPX classics (The Billing and No Fly Zone), this new race embraces all the muddy, bitter glory of a British February.

Starting from the Emmott Arms in Rawdon, runners face a gruelling double ascent of The Billing, with a mid-race lap of the perimeter fence of Leeds Bradford Airport that is as bizarre as it is brilliant. It's cold. It's steep. The worst and best of winter trail running, all in one unforgiving loop. Trail shoes are compulsory: this is no jog in the park, but a celebration of stubbornness, madness and mud.
