About

The Ascent 5K is a trail race in the Red River Gorge near Slade on July 10, 2027, with a 5K (3.1 miles) and a 10K (6.2 miles), both starting at 8 a.m. from the Natural Bridge Campground, where the race also finishes.

Runners face tough climbs and stunning views on rugged, exclusive private land. Top finishers receive awards and every runner gets a commemorative T-shirt, with free race photos and a lively post-race gathering. To keep the event eco-friendly, participants bring their own hydration system. Bibs can be picked up on race morning, and online registration in advance is required. There is a 2.5-hour time limit to complete the course.
