Texas Independence Day 5K

Texas Independence Day 5K marks Texas Independence Day with a 5K in Grand Prairie, Texas, on March 6, 2027, starting at 9:30 AM. It is held at The Epic, a site with trails and a lake, and organized by the One Tribe Foundation. You can run, walk or ruck the distance, Texas-themed outfits are part of the day, and there is music, refreshments and a vendor village. Registration includes a race shirt and a medal, with extra perks for early entries and for kids.

Allowing rucking as well as running tells you how broad the field will be, so set your own effort accordingly. If you are racing it, the 9:30 AM start leaves room for breakfast and a full warm-up. If you plan to ruck, do two or three weighted walks beforehand at the load you intend to carry: 3.1 miles under a pack is a very different proposition from 3.1 miles in running shoes.
