Tails for the Trails 5k Canicross is an informal canicross event in West Newbury on March 27, 2027, with a 5K (3.1 miles) trail race starting at 10:00 a.m. It is all about building the bond between runners and their dogs on the trails, and suits beginners and experienced runners alike.

Participants must be equipped with a canicross harness, a bungee leash and a canicross belt. Prizes go to the top three finishers, and proceeds benefit the Essex County Trail Association.
