Superhero 5K and Fun Run

Superhero 5K and Fun Run is held at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, on February 6, 2027. The Fun Run goes off at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K (3.1 miles) follows at 9:00 a.m. The event raises awareness of foster care in the region and can be entered either in person or virtually.

Costumes are encouraged, which tells you most of what you need to know about the tone: this is a family morning with activities, food and giveaways rather than a race to be feared. Medals go to the first 700 5K finishers and awards are given across several categories, so there is still something to chase if you want it. Run the 5K seriously and you will have a fitness marker for the spring; run it in a cape and you will have a better photograph.
