About

The Steamboat Marathon takes place in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, in early June, along the Elk River. Three road courses are offered: a 10K, a half marathon (13.1 miles) and a marathon (26.2 miles). Start times were not available in the listing, so check the organizer's schedule before planning travel.

Steamboat Springs sits at roughly 6,700 feet, so visitors from lower elevations will notice the thinner air, particularly on the longer distances. Hydrate in the days before the race, avoid starting too fast and expect cool mornings that warm up quickly.
