SSR 5k- Fall Series #3

SSR 5k- Fall Series #3 takes place in Socorro, New Mexico, on November 26, 2026, Thanksgiving morning. Put on by the Socorro Striders and Riders, it is the third race of their fall series and doubles as the club's Turkey Trot. The single format is a 5K (3.1 miles) starting at 9:00 a.m.

New Mexico sits high, so if you are traveling in from lower elevation, give yourself an easy opening mile and finish strong rather than the other way around. Club series races tend to be low-key and welcoming, with a mix of committed local runners and families, which makes them a good place for a first race. Six weeks of three easy runs per week, one of them a bit faster, is enough preparation. Bring a layer you can shed once the sun is up and you are warm.
