About

The Spring Lake Memorial Classic 10K / 5K / 2 Mile takes place in Brooksville, in eastern Hernando County, Florida, on May 22, 2027. Runners choose from three distances: the 10K (6.2 miles), nicknamed “The Neff Lake Monster,” at 7:30 a.m.; the 5K (3.1 miles), billed as “Florida’s Toughest 5K!,” at 7:40 a.m.; and the 2 Mile Walk/Run (3.2 km), “The Perfect Stroll,” at 7:45 a.m.

The challenging courses wind through a scenic setting home to native wildlife, and the event supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Races are chip-timed, with age-group awards in the 5K and 10K, and every 2-mile participant receives a medal.
