The Shelter Island 10K takes place on Shelter Island, in Suffolk County, off Long Island in New York State, on June 19, 2027. Alongside the 10K (6.2 miles) road race, the program includes a 5K (3.1 miles) road race, as well as 10K and 5K walks.

The 10K route hugs the shoreline, passing grand waterfront estates and the soft sand of Crescent Beach, with several views over Peconic Bay. It also runs through Dering Harbor, officially the smallest incorporated municipality in New York State.

The local atmosphere is especially warm: residents happily spray the road with their garden hoses to cool the runners down, and several island organizations turn out along the course to cheer on the field.
