Sawatch Ascent -50k

The Sawatch Ascent 50K, in Colorado, is a high-altitude trail race that starts and finishes at the base of Mount Princeton, with panoramic views of the Sawatch Range and the Arkansas River valley. The course mixes dirt and paved roads with tough climbs and descents, running mostly on singletrack, including sections of the Colorado Trail. It shares some similarities with the High Lonesome 100 course. On-site camping is available, and well-stocked aid stations line the route. An optional challenge, the Sawatch 50/50, involves finishing two races in the same weekend for a special award.
