About

The San Francisco Marathon, held in late July, is the only marathon to cross the Golden Gate Bridge in both directions. It starts at dawn on the Embarcadero and passes through Golden Gate Park, Haight-Ashbury and the Mission before returning to the bay. Around 27,000 participants across the marathon, two half marathons, the 10K and 5K.
