About

The Run with Kenyans 5k and 1 Mile Fun Walk brings the community together at Water Works Park in Des Moines for a celebration of health, culture and unity inspired by Kenyan running traditions. On June 20, 2027, the 1-mile fun run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K at 9 a.m.

Participants of all ages and fitness levels can join a range of activities, including a fun relay and a recreational run or walk. Post-race festivities feature music and cultural exchange. Proceeds support local initiatives focused on youth empowerment, mental health awareness and physical activity, helping build a healthier community.
