Run the 509

Run the 509 takes place in Deer Park, near Spokane, Washington, in late May, and includes a toddler race among its options. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 8:00 a.m., the 10K at 8:15 a.m. and the 5K at 8:30 a.m. The start is in the WAFD Bank parking lot, and the out-and-back route passes through neighborhoods, golf courses and rural areas with minimal elevation change, which suits runners of every level.

Participants receive a shirt and a medal, and the top runners earn prizes. Local food vendors serve food and drinks near the finish, which creates a friendly atmosphere for runners and their supporters. Because it is an out-and-back, you will see other runners on the way, which helps in the later miles.
