About

The RUN ROCKAWAY BEACH FIRECRACKER 5k takes place in Rockaway Beach, New York, on July 3, 2027, with an 8 a.m. start. The Rockaway Beach race day offers a choice between a 5K (3.1 miles) and a half marathon on a flat, USATF-certified course along the ocean.

The 5K starts at Beach 94th Street and runs out and back to Beach 124th Street, while the half marathon is made up of two scenic loops, one heading west to Beach 126th and the other east to 56th Place, before returning to the start. At least four water stations are set up per loop so runners can stay hydrated. With an ocean breeze and an encouraging crowd, the race combines a fast course built for performance with the charm of the New York shoreline. Every finisher receives a T-shirt, a medal and post-race snacks.
