About

The annual Run for the Heroes 5K, 10K, & Fun Walk in Florence honors those serving in the military and those who have passed. On May 24, 2027, the 10K (6.2 miles) starts at 8:00 a.m., followed by the 5K (3.1 miles) and the 1 Mile Honor Walk (1.6 km) at 8:05 a.m., and a Kids Fun Run at 8:45 a.m.

A military tribute precedes the races, and all participants are treated to a pancake breakfast afterward. Proceeds benefit St. Anthony School and the local American Red Cross. The event is open to all levels; strollers and leashed pets are welcome, and awards go to top finishers in several categories.
